Service types

Roof repair

Localized fixes for leaks, missing shingles, flashing, and pipe boots.

Questions to ask

  • Is the leak at a flashing, a penetration, or in the field of the roof?
  • Will the repair match the existing material, or is a larger section required?
  • What written warranty covers workmanship, and for how long?

Roof replacement

Full replacement when the covering, deck, or leak history no longer supports a patch.

Questions to ask

  • Does the bid include tear-off, underlayment, flashing, and ventilation?
  • Who pulls the permit, and is the deck replacement priced as an allowance or a unit price?
  • What manufacturer warranty remains if a different crew did an earlier repair?

Storm damage

Hail, wind, and fallen debris. Documentation matters as much as the repair itself.

Questions to ask

  • Will the company document slope, material, and visible impact before anything is removed?
  • Do they work with your insurer, or only on a retail contract with you?
  • What happens to temporary dry-in if the full job is delayed?

Roof inspections

A visual check for age, leaks, ventilation, and items a buyer or carrier may ask about.

Questions to ask

  • Is the inspection from the ground, a ladder, or on the roof?
  • Do you receive photos and a written note, or only a verbal opinion?
  • Is the inspection tied to a requirement that you hire the same company for repairs?

For homeowners

  • Ask whether the price includes flashing at walls and chimneys. Those details are a common source of repeat leaks.
  • A roof that is old is not automatically a roof that must be replaced. Ask what failed, and what a repair would leave untouched.
  • Get the scope in writing: layers to be removed, underlayment, pipe boots, ridge vent, and who hauls debris.
  • Storm chasers and local companies can both do good or poor work. The contract, the permit, and the insurance certificate are the parts you can check.

Questions

What do I say when I call?

The city, leak or replacement, and whether a storm just hit. That's enough to start.

Can I call before I file an insurance claim?

Yes. Call first, say what the roof is doing, and decide on the claim after someone has looked.
